![]() The Texas Moratorium Network [TMN] is an all-volunteer, grassroots organization formed in August 2000 with the primary goal of mobilizing statewide support for a moratorium on executions in Texas. To accomplish this goal, TMN is engaged in several educational and outreach projects and works closely with other groups devoted to human rights, criminal justice reform and death penalty abolition. These groups include the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, the Campaign to End the Death Penalty, Unitarian Universalists against the Death Penalty, the Texas Criminal Justice Reform Coalition, the ACLU, and Amnesty International. We believe that significant death penalty reform in Texas, including a moratorium on executions, is a viable goal if the public is educated on the death penalty system and is encouraged to contact their elected representatives to urge passage of moratorium legislation. |
